Getting Married During COVID-19: Poppy and Mike's Wedding.

The beautiful bride, Poppy, chose our "Claire" gown by Ellis Bridals to complement her minimalist-yet-glamorous wedding feel. Whimsical and feminine, this full-length fit and flare crepe gown was the perfect style for our bride. Our boutique is based in Berkshire in the UK, and we go above and beyond to give our brides the perfect dress for their most special day.
We asked Poppy to tell us more about her journey as a bride. You’ll fall in love with their inspiring, romantic story. Here’s their sweet wedding experience!
What Was the Most Special Part of Your Wedding Day?
While the entire event was magical, Poppy was left moved on three specific counts – When she walked down to Michael and confidently said her vows, when all the women gave their speeches and when they had their photo shoot done with a backdrop of Stanlake Park’s vineyards shining under the warm autumn sun.
She said, “It was incredibly moving. When I walked down the aisle both of us could not stop smiling, but when I had to say my husband's name during the vows the emotions caught up with me and it was a struggle to get through them - but that made it all the more romantic and amazing.”
About the speeches she said, “We are having a bigger celebration next summer (hopefully!) So we decided that for our 2020 micro-wedding we would reverse tradition and have the women give the speeches: the bride, mother of the bride and my husband's twin sister. I think the intimacy of the occasion made the speeches even more personal, meaningful and moving (as well as still managing to embarrass us both!)”
Words of Advice for Future Sophie Grace Bridal Brides.

About getting married in the pandemic Poppy mentioned, “We postponed our wedding twice and I read a lot of blogs, articles and comments from brides who all talked about how intimate, romantic and moving small ceremonies were. I definitely did not really believe any of them until our day. But I am here to tell you that you should believe the hype.”
What’s the Best Part About Being Married?
The beautiful bride Poppy knew exactly what the best part of being married was and said, “Being able to call Michael my husband, or hear him say on the phone "oh I'll just have to check with my wife" is so surreal but amazing! Also the pictures are pretty great.”
