Chloe and Leon's Wedding

Today we’re featuring another Sophie Grace Bride! Chloe and Leon’s wedding looked absolutely gorgeous and we are so glad she chose us to play a part in her special day! Their intimate day was just so relaxed with a gathering of their loved ones. The Green Cornwall didn’t need much decoration, but what they did add worked so well. It all looked really gorgeous and I especially love the cheese wedding cake, oh so pretty. You can really see this in their stunning photos, which were captured by the super talented The Unbridled Photography. Take a look…

The Dress
Chloe wears the Andrea gown by Ladybird Bridal. The modern classic. This off the shoulder gown is proof that simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. With a flattering silhouette and pockets, this is contemporary luxury at it’s true finest.

The Wedding Theme
Rustic Elegance. A beautifully rich and warm, elegant rustic wedding palette with an earthy toned edge. Refined dramatic blooms and rustic styling in warm tones of blue. Our beautiful bride Chloe has worn a hand painted custom jacket by Nina Raines for the chilly evening. For bridesmaids she has chosen pretty blue dresses with sparkle bodice. Her handsome groom has wore a wool suit with velvet accessories for a lush rich texture.

How did the two of you meet?
Well, it all started with a right swipe! Leon’s profile said that he made a lovely cup of tea and I fancied his smile right away. He opened with “I bet you only swiped for the tea” to which I replied “I can’t believe you think I’m that fickle” and the rest is history. We went for dinner by the ocean for our first date and we had a windswept seaside first kiss. We are both quite cheeky and I remember giggling my way through that first date!

How did your partner propose?
Leon asked me to marry him at the top of Pew Tor on Dartmoor. We are both Devonshire born and bred, and this is my favourite spot on the moor because it feels so wild and away from the world, but also looks down on my beloved hometown of Tavistock. We had travelled down from Wokingham to spend Easter weekend with our families, and decided to start with a breezy walk to clear the cobwebs. We climbed to the top of the tor and when I turned around Leon was on one knee. He was perfectly romantic and said “Chloe, you make me happy every day. Will you marry me?” and I, completely in shock, replied “Are you sure?! I’m such a t**t”. We established that yes he was sure and that it was a yes. It felt like we were the only two people in the world. It was perfect.

What was the most special part of your wedding day?
I have so many, so I’ll pick a top three. Our wedding venue The Green in Cornwall, has exclusive use for the whole weekend and accommodation for 32 people. One of my favourite moments was us, our parents and the wedding party + partners all stomping through the rain for a pint at the local pub. It was so special to have them all together and that first night really made me feel so chilled for the next day. The second has to be the first look I did with my Dad. He asked me to wear his late-mothers wedding ring on the day and it was such a special moment that we shared. Finally, after our photo shoot, before the meal, was having a second to breathe with my new husband. We kissed and hugged and shared a nip of rum from the hip-flask that I’d bought him and I just felt so wonderfully full of love at that moment. Other highlights include: nervous dancing to Uptown Funk with my bridesmaids before the ceremony, walking down the aisle to My Girl by the Temptations and our guests singing a spontaneous chorus of Wonderwall after the DJ finished.

Any wisdom for future Sophie Grace Bridal Brides?
Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. I am sure lots of people find ‘the one’ but like most love stories finding your wedding dress isn’t like it is in the movies. For example, I took my then three year old goddaughter to one of my fittings - I was expecting her to be so excited and in quiet awe of my gown… instead she smiled for about half a second and then had said “I WANT ONE” and cried for about 20 minutes because she couldn’t try any on. It was hilarious and the Sophie Grace girls were so kind letting her play with the fake bouquets and putting my veil on her.

Be prepared to let go of what you expect to love and go in with an open mind. Be kind to yourself and take the people that you know will be honest with you! Also, enjoy every SECOND of being with the Sophie Grace team. They will make you feel so wonderfully special and relaxed. I wish I could do all of my shopping there.

What’s the best thing about being married?
Um, Not having to plan a wedding anymore? No, just kidding. I love that we are our own little unit now, I love that we have all of the wonderful memories of our day and that we had the chance to share our love with all of our family and friends. We got married nearly four months ago and I still feel like I’m just in a wonderful happy bubble. There’s really no feeling like it.
