Jasmin and John's Wedding

The beautiful bride, Jasmin, chose us for her wedding dress. Our boutique is based in Berkshire in the UK, and we try our best to give our brides the perfect wedding dress shopping experience. We asked her a few questions about her wedding day and her husband. Here’s their sweet love story!

How did this love story begin?

Jasmine and John’s story began 10 years ago when they were 16 and 19. Jasmin asked for John’s phone number and then he took her on a romantic first date. They kept getting to know each other and getting closer over time. Jasmin maintains she knew from the first date that he was ‘the one’ she wanted to have children with, and one day marry. They had their first child, Harvey, in 2011 followed by their second one, Phoebe in 2014.

The Proposal

It may have taken John 8 years to propose, but he did it in the most beautiful way: on the very top of the Eiffel Tower, he got down on one knee and asked Jasmin to marry him!

She said yes! It was magical and worth the wait, she says. They decided to get married during the year of their 10th anniversary, which sounds beautiful and sentimental.

What was your favourite moment on the day?

“Our favourite part of our wedding day was saying our vows to each other,” Jasmin says, “the words really meant so much to us. It was just the most beautiful day and we will treasure it forever.”

There wasn't a particular theme at their wedding, but they did incorporate Paris into their wedding breakfast to pay homage to the proposal. The colour scheme was duck egg, peach & cream with a nice touch of gold.

Any words of wisdom for future Diane Legrand Brides?

When asked to give her advice, Jasmin said “The advice I would give to a bride looking for her dream dress is to try on different styles, get out of your comfort zone - you may be surprised to find that your least favourite choice maybe your best! And on your wedding day, don't focus on anything apart from enjoying your day with your new husband. The day goes by quick, so be sure to enjoy every moment you can!” And we wholeheartedly agree with her advice!
